Since our mid June shaky start with all the flooding we have had great hiking, climbing conditions and incredible displays of wild flowers.
In fact yesterday we saw displays of Penstemons and Saxifrage like I have never seen before. While sitting high up on a ridge in my short sleeves we could gaze all the way to the Goodsirs and beyond to the Bugaboos and Rogers pass. Quite something!
Although it is a long way off we were thinking that it was time for a party of sorts and so we have decided to stay open for one more weekend this fall and celebrate our 87th year in operation! We’re having our kitchen team share their best creations from our summer menu and I will bring out what I felt were some of our best Canadian wines from this summer as well. The wine will be on us for this celebratory dinner on the Saturday night, October 5, 2013. The fall brings with it clear crisp days where the snow dusted mountains add a backdrop to the azure coloured lakes. A little gold still hangs on the larch trees as they shed the last of their needles. A combination which makes for spectacular hiking.
We have only just opened this space up so if you are thinking you want to come and experience O’Hara during a different time of the year, never could get a spot or know friends or family who would like to experience the Magic of O’Hara, give us a call.
