Generation’s of travellers to Lake O’Hara have tried to capture its beauty on canvas, paper and by camera.

In 1916, a famous painter found his way to Yoho National Park. He had a valet and a butler with him, and he painted full sized-canvases at Lake O’Hara and at Twin Falls. These paintings were snapped up by eager buyers, spoken for before they were even completed, and immediately went on view in important galleries inspiring generations of painters to follow in his footsteps, seeking out the scenery that inspired his work.
