Summer/Fall at Lake O’Hara

Summer in the high country brings a profusion of wildflowers. But by mid-September, the changing larch trees cast a golden glow on the trails.

Visitors enjoy the gifts of Lake O’Hara in a multitude of ways. The area offers myriad hiking experiences, ranging from gentle strolls through alpine meadows to challenging high-alpine routes. Others choose to pack their paints or cameras and venture to a quiet spot, where the beauty of the moment can be captured. For guests interested in climbing one of the many peaks that surround us, certified International Mountain Guides are available for hire.

We open annually for the summer season in mid June, and close again in early October.
